History
Following the arrival of many foreign surfers to take part in the surf world championship in Teahupoo, the company was founded in 2002 to meet the demand for boats and accommodation on the peninsula.
Starting with a single boat used to follow, film, photograph and assist pro surfers alongside Alain Riou, the company quickly diversified, and a second, larger and better-suited boat became necessary to help visitors discover the wonders of the peninsula in addition to the surfing activity.
Tahiti Iti Tour and Surf has evolved over the past 25 years, adapting to visitors' needs and to the unique character of the peninsula.
Then, with the arrival of new licensed captains and diving specialists, we acquired and fitted out a third vessel, larger and adapted for diving, with a ladder, tank rack and a terrace to overlook the surf spots and watch for whales.
Clients and Partners
This growth allowed us to work with major companies on film shoots and photo shoots (Quiksilver, Rip Curl, Billabong). We are able to support outrigger canoe races, welcome diving clubs eager to discover the magical drop-offs of the peninsula, and drop off hikers at the start of the trails.
We have taken part in filming for Thalassa's "Nuits de la Glisse" and advertising films: Hinano, fashion shoots, Roxy, etc. All the greatest surf photographers have been aboard our boats, as after 12 years of experience at the Teahupoo surf spot, we have built solid expertise.
We work with all the island's service providers: hotels, guesthouses, snack bars, restaurants and clubs.
We offer preferential rates to company works councils, school alumni associations and non-profit organisations. We are affiliated with the Tahiti Tourisme GIE, Passeport Gourmand, Big CE, Club Dec, and we are featured in tourist guides such as the Tahiti Guide, Petit Futé, Guide du Routard, Lonely Planet, and others.
Certifications
All our boats are approved and inspected every year by the maritime affairs department. They are professionally insured. Our captains are licensed and have a thorough knowledge of the lagoons, the environment and Polynesian legends.
We are volunteer sea rescuers, members of the French Polynesian sea rescue federation.
